14. History of the UK

Have you ever been to England? England is a country of the United Kingdom, and there the train, post service and soccer were born originally. We call this country England or gIgirisuh, but actually official name is the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland (the UK). This means the UK consists of four countries, England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

The people who live in the UK have a sense that they are different from those in the other three countries. History has made them different, so they donft like to be called English.

Last year World Cup, which is the biggest soccer festival in the world, was hosted by Japan and Korea. The UK didnft appear on the stage. Why? This is because they played as England. Ireland also played in the primary match, but they couldn't qualify.

As described above, the UK consists of four countries, and each of the four contries showed strong patriotism.
