One day, his father and mother said to him, “You are too small. You should go to the capital, and find the “Uchide no Kozuchi.”, then you can become taller. 

    Then he started travelling to the capital. When he left his house, his mother gave two things to him. One was a bowl. It was his ship. The other was a needle. He moved the ship by using the needle as a paddle. He also used the needle as a sword.

    When he arrived at the capital, he saw a very beautiful princess. He spoke to her, but she didn’t hear his voice. Then, a big demon appeared. He attacked the princess. Issun Boushi flew at the demon. And he stabbed at the demon with the needle. The demon said, “Ouch!” and ran away. The princess found Issun Boushi, and said to him, “Thank you for your help.” Then, they found the “Uchide no Kozuchi”. However, the boy was too small to take it. So the girl picked it up and said to him, “Be big and tall!” He became tall, and they fell in love. They married and lived happily ever after.
